The one thing I wish I’d known about being ‘enough’.
This is for you – my overthinker and over-giving perfectionist š¤
Meet Tango.
Heās one of the donkeys at Asherās Farm Sanctuary, where I make my annual birthday pilgrimage.
Tango gives the best hugs – or at least his version – gently resting his head on your shoulder and just staying there. Within seconds, I could feel my heart rate slow down. Everything got quiet. There were no expectations. No ādoing.ā Just being.
Somewhere along my life, I learnt that my worth was linked to achieving, excelling, and helping others – and if I wasnāt, it made me feel āless than.ā An unconscious belief that my value, as a human, was tied to the value I brought to others.
But Tango helped bring me back to presence and reminded me that life isnāt always about striving or achieving. Sometimes itās simply about existing, and that alone is enough. We are enough, just because we are.
So hereās my question for you today: Where can you let go of the expectations – yours or othersā – and remind yourself that youāre already enough?
Go on. Breathe it out. You are enough.
And if you ever need a masterclass in the art of ājust being,ā Tango (along with Bravo, Foxtrot, and Juliet) will gladly show you how. You can book a (free) tour here. Tell the team I send my love <3
